Nightshifters is back with another strong release and this time around it’s a storming new EP entitled ‘War’ by Chicago’s producer Rampage! who is part of the Ghetto Division crew along side Rob Threezy, Charlie Glitch and MaddJazz. The four originals on the EP take in big synthy rave, moody dubstep, house and bmore while remixes come from Blatta & Inesha and HeavyFeet. You can pick up the whole thing at Beatport.

Just to add to the mind boggling pleothora of remixes that are floating around the interweb for the Spirit of Apollo project by N.A.S.A aka Squeak E Clean And DJ Zegon here’s another fresh one from by Ed Banger producer Mr. Oizo for the track that features Karen O, Ol Dirty Bastard and Fat Lip.

SHE’S A GENIUS

Australian rockers JET recently released a big garage rock anthem called ‘She’s a Genius’ from their forthcoming ‘Shaka Rock’ album and you can check the video here. Texas producer Bird Peterson has given the track the remix treatment which stays pretty faithful to the original and adds a crunchy techy vibe.

The duo have been getting plenty of deserved attention from the blogs and more importantly from the labels and have got original productions forthcoming via On The Brink and have just completed remixes for Cagedbaby and Tonka that are going out on Southern Fried.

NEW DJ FOOD

With over twenty years of producing and mixing DJ Food aka Strictly Kev is something of a legend and he’s releasing a new album soon on Ninja Tune but before that there’s a series of fresh EP releases that will make up the album. The first entitled ‘One Man’s Weird Is Another Man’s World’ is out July 6th and features this nicely wigged out jam.

Scion A/V are always pushing things forward and the latest remix project takes microphone champ Grand Puba’s unique vocal and hands the production to four hot dubstep producers. Remixes are from Toddla T, upcoming Londoner Reso, West Coast Drum & Bass menace 12th Planet and West London’s Caspa who delivers a chilled key-drenched reworking. DEATH OF EVERYTHING

We’ve been enjoying London emcee Kano’s album ‘140 GRIME ST’ for a long time now and following a buzz on Twitter this track ’Death Of Everything’ first hit the radiowaves on Friday when Mista Jam dropped it mid-set on his BBC 1Xtra show. Kano himself has just put it up on his Twitter page and as you might suspect it’s some trademark tight rhyming over the latest single from Jay-Z.

London based midget house producer SOLO is playing Hannah Holland’s ‘Bastard Batty Bass’ night in room 3 at FABRICLIVE this coming Friday July 3rd, and he’s put together a classy mix for the occasion that features some prime cuts from himself and some stuff we haven’t even heard of before but we likey. REST IN PEACE

There isn’t much more to say about the untimely passing of music legend Michael Jackson and I’m sure the various talking heads will be doing overtime. His contribution to music should never be overlooked and now hopefully he will be left in peace.
