WALL OF SOUND

UK based Wall of Sound have been releasing excellent stuff for over a decade.

Home back then to acts such as The Wiseguys, Jon Carter and Les Rhythmes Digitales, now home to Royksopp and Infadels to name but afew.

Released over 10 years ago on EP Don’t Stop and LP 117 In The Shade. It’s been sampled/ripped-off more recently by Fred Falke & Alan Braxe on ‘Introduction’.

Designated Area are doing it for uk urban art, they opened up the first graffiti art gallery in London back in 2005. Wel worth a look.

GET LIVE : STRANGE FRUIT PROJECT

OM HipHop have signed up some great acts, none more so than Strange Fruit Project.

‘Get Live’ featuring Erykah Badu, is set for a single release and is worth picking up.

Taken from their album “The Healing” released last summer, but is also found on Om Hip Hop Volume One featuring the likes of the Zion I & The Grouch, who are definately worth checking.

FUNK HARMONY PARK

Originally a collective of musicians and DJ’s that established themselves as an electronic band, Funk Harmony Park is Icelandic duo Roofuz and Mr.Minute.

Fade Records released “My Truth” in May 2005 and it became the most requested tune on KCRW in California from late august until mid September.
Max Graham picked “Planet P” on his Mix Mag compilation in June 2005 and the song was officialy released by Fds Recordings September 2006.

They’ve just released newie Crystal Sky on Arctic Wave Records, featuring remixes by Hernan Cattaneo and John Tonks.

They make “well produced, soulful, deep, enjoyable dance music that deserve serious attention.” Apparently.
