SHAKE MY WHAT?

It’s fair to say that Bmore’s sleazy club influence has reached the UK and the recently released Mad Decent ‘Shake It Down’ 12” pretty much confirmed it.

I’ve been enjoying the resulting club action, although with this sound gaining popularity it’s inevitable that you’ll witness a drunken Sandra from Doncaster shaking her ample ass, which has been fed for years on a steady diet of fish and chips.

DJ Blaqstarr is the newest pick of the Bmore bunch and this track, featuring the vocals of sixteen year old rapper Rye Rye, has the trademark wobbly synth and big basslines you’ve come to expect, only done better.

Remixes come from a stellar line-up of current cream of crop producers with Claude Vonstroke and Drop The Lime turning in a couple of stormers, while Switch gives the track a nice London flavour.  As a bonus, here’s the Sinden mash-up that you can get from Mad Decent Blog.

mp3: dj blaqstarr – shake it down to the ground (switch & santogold remix).
mp3: sinden/blaqstarr – beeper (shake it down).

Lucky man. You’ve gotta get with Diplo in a live setting, Drop The Lime will be amazing……good times.

[...] The new single ‘Creator/Les Artistes’ by Brooklyn’s Santogold is well worth checking out for some too cool for school vibes and pretty great wordplay. If you didn’t already pick up the Blaqstarr remix from a previous post here. [...]
