The new video from Bangers And Cash isn’t exactly safe for work, but it looks like a lot of sleazy fun and it’s not too far away from what I’ve got planned for tonight (yeah, right). If you haven’t got the track it’s here.
Just to mark the return of this blog business here’s arguably one of the biggest tunes of the moment in the shape of some retro flavoured cheezy goodness from Armand Van Helden, whose ‘GhettoBlaster’ long player was a definite highlight of the year.
This track was already big back in the summer and it’ll be going into orbit when it gets a release on Southern Fried in the New Year, backed by some pretty massive remixes from the likes of Switch and Simian Mobile Disco.
It’s fitting that the last post for some time features Chromeo, they’ve rocked it this year and we should hopefully be hearing big things from the guys next year.

What he’s doing is without a doubt good and it definitely takes you to another place, but this time around the bubbling menace of this Modeselektor reworking wins out.
The D.I.M remix of ‘My People’ by The Presets is big and has been getting plenty of deserved attention from other sites. If you missed it from those places, here it is in all its full quality goodness.
Shock rocker Marilyn Manson has pretty much become part of the fabric of everyday life these days and he reprises his role as pantomime villain well.
The troubled multi-millionaire is a celebrity columnists wet dream and he recently confirmed reports that his mother has kept his foreskin in a jar for forty years, add to this the fact he’s been sued by his keyboard player for squandering band profits on human skin lampshades and the skeleton of a child and you’ve got manna from heaven, or hell.
His latest effort ‘Eat Me, Drink Me’ was surprisingly listenable and here’s the latest single given an exclusive, unreleased reworking by Adam Freeland, who’s new three track ‘Hate’ ep has just been released and is well worth investigating.

We like Dizzee around here and when he’s got some added Baile funk flavour it can’t be ignored, so here’s a top notch remix from three time Hong Kong DMC Champion DJ Beware, who’s also done a nice dancefloor rework of the Saigon track ‘C’Mon Baby’.

Singer songwriter Yoav describes his beguiling take on acoustic electronica by saying ‘the music I listen to - the Prodigy, OutKast, Björk - it isn’t necessarily acoustic guitar music. And that is my thing, finding out how you might play those kind of sounds on the acoustic guitar.’
He’s been mentioned a few times on these pages and it’s great to see that his fresh talent is being recognised. He’s recently opened for Tori Amos and his track ’Beautiful Lie’ is currently the UK iTunes ‘Single Of The Week’. It previously featured on the ‘Adore’ ep and will be on his forthcoming debut album ‘Charmed and Strange’, which is due out at in April.

The offizzal video for M.I.A’s single ‘Paper Planes’ is out and features a brief cameo from a couple of Beazly Boys. Following the Letterman censorship of the gunshot samples which she was pretty unhappy about, M.I.A seemed really upset that someone from MTV had been tampering with the samples again on a leaked version of the video - the five million dollar men explain it better here. If you’ve been wondering who the Falco lookey-likey is in the recent Sony Ericsson ad campaign is, it’s none other than the self styled Prince of Baile Funk himself Edu K.
I’m obviously a little late on the Edu K thing because he’s been around for a while now and came to most people’s attention with last years ‘Frenétiko’ album, but it’s worth a mention because this year has been undeniably good for him. Similarly, Crookers and Bonde Do Role (R.I.P?) have pretty much took off and these remixes should warm you up.
