GOLD EXCHANGE

29 02 2008

santogold.jpg

This great xxxchange remix of Santogold’s track is rightfully all over the internets, but here it is just in case you haven’t picked it up from any of the blogs that originally posted it. Look out for her long awaited debut album out March 24th.

mp3: santogold - l.e.s artistes (xxxchange remix).

FIVE FOR FRIDAY

It’s friday and there’s more than five.

SNOOP REMIXED

29 02 2008

snoop1.jpg

If you’re not bored of hearing Snoop talk about ’Sexual Eruptions’ yet, here’s the Boys Noize remix. I’m only posting this because, following his recent Cut Copy remix and now this, it looks like Alexander Ridha is going in interesting directions with his sound.

mp3: snoop dogg - sexual eruption (boys noize remix).

GET2KNOW

28 02 2008

systemite.jpg

Here’s a fresh jackin beat from London dj and producer Matt Jay aka The Systemite, winner of last months IDJ magazine’s ‘Raw Talent’ competition. Very London..very nice..

mp3: the systemite - get to know me.

DANGER SEEKERS

28 02 2008

The hot Holograms produced video for Kap10Kurt’s newie is some manga inspired goodness from a retro future. There’s some transformer style robot action, a sexy side-kick, and a ghetto blaster turbo boost. What more do you need? Pick up the picture disc here, or head over to iTunes or Beatport for the digital.

MORE PANTHER

28 02 2008

panther1.jpg

Following last weeks pretty busy Panther remix here’s a smoother electro/ital-disco rework from fellow Portland producer Copy. Catch the duo at this years SXSW and they’ve just hooked up with Gossip for a couple of dates too.

mp3: panther - on the lam (copy remix).

IT’S ALRIGHT

27 02 2008

atomhool.jpg

The new single from Atomic Hooligan gets some deep and moody treatment from Munich’s Tomcraft. The original is from the album ‘Sex and Brugs And Blah Blah Blah’, forthcoming on Botchit & Scarper.

mp3: atomic hooligan - i don’t care (tomcraft remix).

MOCHI MUSIC

27 02 2008

mochi.jpg

David Wang aka Mochipet covers all the bases with his Techno and Breakcore to Grime, Dubstep to Hip Hop approach, and although that makes his production style difficult to define, it provides some much loved beats.

Following the recent ‘Girls Love Breakcore’ long player, ‘Microphonepet’ is essentially a best-of collection of the last five years output from Wangs own Daly City Records combined with contributions from MC’s such as Casual & Opio from Hieroglyphics, Raashan of Crown City Rockers, Mykah9 from Freestyle Fellowship, and Dopestyle from Kutmaster Kurt.

The result is a heady mix of hybrid party acid hip hop that hits the spot and from it here’s a more straight forward electro funker.

mp3: mochipet - get your whistle wet (feat. the hustle heads).
mp3: mochipet vs claude vonstroke - get your whistle wet vs the whistler.

AMERICAN BWOY

27 02 2008

The video for Estelle’s newie ‘American Boy’ is nicely shot in monochrome and the track will hopefully see her get some well deserved mainstream recognition. Collaborating with John Legend and Kanye won’t do any harm, and it’s worthy of a mention because it’s the first (and probably last) time you’re likely to hear bloke rhymed with bespoke.

FADER 52 MIX

For the latest special Africa issue of the FADER they put together this mix of jams from artists that inspired them and I had to let you know..miss this and you’re missing out..

BEAT BOX

27 02 2008

whitesimplelogo2.jpg

Bang The Box is a new San Francisco digital imprint that’s sprung from a monthly party that was originally started to bridge the gap in SF between the different House, Techno and Electro nights in the city.

The first techy release has been written an produced by Lance De Sardi (Land Shark) and ’Match Point’ is a cool peak timer, with ‘Moot Point’ being the original, more fleshed out version of the track.

mp3: lance de sardi - match point.
mp3: lance de sardi - moot point.

FIGURE IT OUT

26 02 2008

the-cool-kids.jpg

This new track from illville’s The Cool Kids has been featured before here but it’s been getting plenty of play in the car lately, and its rawness has been perplexing the local yob contingent, who are still posing to G-Unit.

mp3: the cool kids - action figures.

MIAMI NICE

26 02 2008

miami-horror2.jpg

Australian dj/producer Miami Horror’s retro synth goodness has never been featured on these pages before because other blogs have basically been doing an excellent job representing, but when a couple of fatties like this land in your mailbox, it would be rude not to blurb.

The first is ‘This Heart Attack’ from Faker, the original of which has been has been voted number six in Triple J’s Hottest 100 this year, and the second is Grafton Primary’s club favourite ‘I Can Cook’.

mp3: faker - this heart attack (miami horror remix).
mp3: grafton primary - i can cook (miami horror remix).

SWEATER HOSTAGE

26 02 2008

hostage.jpg

Here’s a great Hostage remix of a track from “your favorite mediocre whiteboy, electro-hipster-hop mc/dj, OH SNAP!!“.

I think he’s talking about literally rocking some old school Cosby apparell, and not the fetish act of eating Fruit Loops, Fruity Pebbles, Trix, and Boo Berries and then rolfing the mixture back up onto your partners chest. Check out Disco Dust for more oh snapness.

mp3: oh snap!! - bill cosby sweater (hostage remix).

THIS IS OUR WORLD

26 02 2008

the-hives.jpg

I’m not the biggest fan in the world of The Hives, but you’ve got to admit they’ve got a certain something and their names ie. Chris Dangerous and Dr. Matt Destruction always raise a grin. They usually rock pretty hard, but this latest Pharrell produced single that dropped today is something a bit different.

mp3: the hives - we rule the world (t.h.e.h.i.v.e.s).
